Thank You!

August 6, 2008

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! We appreciate you! Without you the church couldn’t be successful. Your faithfulness in giving, attendance and participation is what makes this ministry work. You are important to Glorious Life Church. The church isn’t buildings or things. It’s people. People like you. The church is about ministry to people and the work of the ministry is carried out by people. People like you.

The church isn’t about the pastor and his own personal goals. It’s not about politics on any level or even church government or administration. It’s about the people. It’s easy to confuse the church with other things or place higher values on things that aren’t necessarily what the church is about. But the church will always be about people. God sent Jesus to die for people! People like me and you. The work of God’s ministry and our ministry are to be one and the same. The redemption of people, the teaching of people and helping them realize their purpose in God.

It’s about people and will always be about people. Financial decisions, organizational decisions and ministry decisions all need to be made with this as a priority; what’s best for people. Not one person or even a small group but what’s best for the whole.

Many of you regularly make personal sacrifices with this in mind. It’s because you realize that ministry is about others. To be truly kingdom minded people we must all work with this as a core value. Thank you for what you do for others.

Thank You Soldiers and Veterans

Thank you to all of you men and women who have served and serve in our military at home and abroad. We acknowledge your tremendous sacrifice to the cause of freedom and national security. We respect you and honor you. You are some of the agents appointed by God according to Romans 13:1-2. You are called by Him to do what you do. You fight for us in times of war, provide security for us at home and yes, even give your life for the freedom of others in foreign lands.

If you ever wonder if that is our responsibility, the answer is yes. Although, we do have a responsibility first to our own we have a responsibility to all of humanity. With all of the great blessings that we have we also have a great responsibility. The Bible tells us, “To whom much is given, much is required”. We appreciate all of the sacrifices you make. You are willing to work hard and train. You have been willing to leave your families to serve. Thank you to your families who sacrifice with you. We honor your spouses and children who are left behind to take care of families.

Some who may have had to put their personal dreams and goals on hold. Thank You. Thank you for being willing to give your life for us. We acknowledge the fallen and the wounded. We are reminded of another who gave His life for all of us. He is Jesus Christ, our Savior and the Soldier of the Cross. He paid the ultimate price for you and me to go free. Free from the bondage of the oppressor and enemy of our souls. We no longer have to live in fear of the terrorism of that evil tyrant, the devil.

Thank you soldiers and veterans for fighting for our peace. It is almost a contradiction of terms. The fact is there is no peace without war. Peace doesn’t just happen. It has to be fought for and maintained in order to be secured. Every free nation or group of people has had to fight for it. King David who was a man after God’s own heart was also known as a man of war. He was in fact a valiant warrior himself. He fought from his youth to his old age. War was his legacy. But because of this he secured many years of peace for his nation that his son, Solomon would enjoy as king and heir to his throne. King David’s sacrifices were for the generations to come.

Thank you soldiers and veterans. It is an amazingly unselfish thing to fight for something that may not be completely realized in your lifetime. You may be agents of war but you are primarily agents of peace and freedom. You are truly our FREEDOM FIGHTERS! We can’t thank you enough. We love you and our prayers are with you and your families. We honor you.

Thank you again.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I just can’t say it enough. You have worked so hard to make camp meeting a success. This again was a joint venture between Glorious Life Church and Creation Station. You people are an honor to serve with. You are faithful, generous and supportive. I appreciate the sacrifices that you made with your time and money this week. I believe that we are a great team. Lonnie, Matt and I were talking this week about how awesome all of you are and Lonnie said that he had never worked with such a great group of people. I agree. Please realize that every act of service that you do has an impact. All week long you have made sure things were put in order in the natural so that the spiritual would not be hindered. Those of you who prepared and served food made it easier for people with expenses and traveling. You blessed them. The greeters and ushers made people feel welcome and comfortable which helps them be more receptive to ministry in the service. Ushers kept order in the service which limited distractions so people could stay focused on what the Holy Spirit may have been speaking to them. Everyone who kept the building and grounds clean made this a nice place to be for ministry. You exemplified stewardship and excellence. Our wonderful childcare workers ministered to our children so that the adults could receive ministry without being distracted. There were those who made sure our guest speakers had a comfortable and private place to relax and gather their thoughts prior to service so they could be prepared to bring us the Word from the Lord.

The praise and worship team and media department brought us a high quality worship experience that ushered us into the presence of God, setting the stage for pulpit ministry following. All of you have served the conference officials and fellow churches well. You have served. You gave yourself away in a very gracious way. Jesus said “that he who is the greatest among you is the servant of all.” You are the greatest. You have followed after Jesus. It truly is an honor to serve with you. I would serve with you on any endeavor. You are hard working people who put your whole heart in it and it’s a joy to serve with you. There is no task to big for you.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You and I love you!
